The Thrill of Experiencing Bungee Jumping
Editorials News | Sep-17-2017
The Bungee Jumping activity remains at the top to be experienced by youth all around the globe. The thrilling activity is experienced when one jumps from a tall structure while being connected to a large elastic cord. Usually a fixed object like building, bridge or crane becomes the tall structure.
Sometimes, it is also possible to jump from a movable object. The movable objects which are able to hover above the ground like hot-air balloon and helicopter functions excellently for bungee jumping. The experience of thrill arises during free-falling and the rebound. Just after the jump of a person, the cord stretches and as the cord recoils, the jumper flies upwards. The jumper continues to oscillate up and down until all the kinetic energy is disappeared.
David Kirke, Geoff Tabin and Simon Keeling, the members of the Oxford University Dangerous Sports Club performed the first modern bungee jumps on 1st April, 1979 from the 250 – feet (76 m). It was done at Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol.
