India is a land full of cultures, traditions, history, and monuments. There are lots of monuments in India. Today I am going to list the Top 5 most historical or oldest monuments of India.

1) Taj Mahal
When someone thinks of Indian monuments the first thing that comes to everyone’s mind is the Taj Mahal. Built by the great Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, the monument is built in pure white marble, the monument construction spanned over 22 years! A visit to the Taj Mahal is a must if you are visiting India.

2) Qutub Minar
Qutub Minar was constructed to depict the first Muslim province in northern India. It stands at an unimaginable height of 240ft but the foremost thrilling reality relating to this ancient monument of India is its iron pillar that has not rusted even though it has been there for over 2000 years!

3) Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal is known to be one of the tallest buildings in the world with no foundation. Despite being arched, it still stands firm thanks to its pyramidal form. This monument is known for the complex latticework on all of its 953 small windows. initially look, it looks like a crown, that could be a sight to see.

4) Fatehpur Sikri
It is undoubtedly a monument however Fatehpur Sikri is truly large enough to be thought of as a little town on its own. engineered throughout the reign of Akbar, Fatehpur Sikri is home to many iconic landmarks like Birbal’s Palace, the tomb of Salim Chisti, and Jama masjid. It is truly a fascinating place to visit.

5) Chittorgarh Fort
Chittorgarh Fort is a fort in the southern parts of Rajasthan. It is mostly famous for the history of Rani Padmini and all the women and children committing Jauhar to escape from the Mughal’s siege. The fort has an amazing history and is a must-visit.
