Unknown Facts about Rogue Planet

A rogue planet also known by other names such as nomad planet, orphan planet, interstellar planet or sunless planet is a planetary-mass object that directly orbits a galactic center. Such objects may have been expelled from a planetary system or have never been a part of a system that is held by a star. There are billions of planets of this kind wandering around in Milky Way alone. Scientists believe that some of these objects may have been created in quite a similar way like stars so they should be called sub-brown dwarfs. There are many rogue planets, either suspected or confirmed, identified by the researchers. But it is still yet not known if these planets were expelled while orbiting a star or were created by themselves as sub-brown dwarfs.

Astronomers have used Very Large Telescope, paranal observatory and Herschel Space Observatory, NASA operated space telescope to observe OTS 44. OTS 44 is a free floating planetary mass object or basically a brown dwarf. The object is kind of an example of an isolated object formed by canonical star-like mode of formation. Very Large Telescope has revealed that the disk of the object is accreting matter in the same way as young stars.
