What Is The Meaning of ‘Creative Marking’?

The CBSE board has trained principals, teachers, exam evaluators across India for helping them understand the scoring system. In addition, the CBSE board has adopted the TETRA system. This system facilitates real-time evaluation monitoring and trend analysis.

A notice is released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). This notice states that consideration should be given to “creative answers” by students in the board examinations. The 12th standards exams have started and Xth class will commence from next week.

According to the spokesperson of CBSE, Rama Sharma, the move is being implemented to give a boost to conceptual learning and curb cramming. She said that students are becoming habitual of writing answers as written in the textbooks. It is very important that they develop their own style of writing and not mere reproduce what the textbooks state. Therefore, they have issued certain instructions for giving consideration to students who adopt their own writing style. She further added that as long as the applicant writes the correct answer, their mode of expression or language should be taken into consideration. This would help the students to focus more on concepts and promote innovation, creativity, expression and conceptual learning.

According to important instructions given by CBSE board, students often are hesitant to attempt their own style of writing because that might lose their marks. But now, the CBSE board has trained teachers and exam evaluators in this regard. The board informed that it been a year that the training sessions have been going on. They have noted the feedback on the basis of which further instructions and training has been given to teachers, principals and other stakeholders who would be evaluating the board exams.

CBSE had also organized a webinar among the latest initiatives. In this webinar, three lakh teachers and principals took part. The board said they focus on an error-free examination system.

Meanwhile, CBSE has also issued a circular. This circular informs that they are planning to bring the results of both class 10th and class 12th earlier this year as compared to previous years. CBSE spokesperson said that security, evaluation, error-free, and a timely result, it is all interconnected and they have been holding training sessions since last year to achieve the same.
