When people are going gaga over the issue and expressing their worries on social media scientists are trying to find out the causes. After analyzing the issue the scientists have come to a result and stated that cracks in ice shelves are part of their natural cycle. The researchers have further added that the heavy force for the crack is all about geometry and stresses in the ice.
The speed of the crack’s expansion in the ice shelve is bothering the scientists. The researchers stated that ice shelves calve regularly. However, it's important to keep ice shelves in place in order to keep the ice behind it from sliding into the ocean.
