Why Choose Home-schooling?

Someone has rightly said that a child’s first school is “Home” and the first teacher is “Mother”. Conventionally, a child is sent to school right from the age of 2.5 or 3 years. Then he/she pursues education till class 12 and becomes ready to land up in college. But parents hardly think of something unique i.e indulging in homeschooling of their kids.

Homeschooling, also known as home education, is the education of children inside the home. Home education is usually conducted by a parent or tutor. Many families use this less formal way of educating. It is a more personalised way of teaching the children and imbibing in them those set of cultures and values alongside education, that as a parent one wants the child to learn. Homeschooling allows the child to involve more in his/her set of interests and aspirations. Such as if a child is more interested in marine sciences, he can invest more time in visiting aquariums and marine centres, drawing marine life in colour books etc. Middle school children can devote time in things that attract them the most like generating a website, visiting an animal shelter etc. and high school children can take up more of internships and apprenticeships and job shadowing opportunities that can help them in the future in the best possible ways. Through homeschooling kids can learn even at a slow pace, they can choose to study during that time of the day as they want, they may study on weekends as well. They can enjoy the sunshine, the fresh air, indulge in exercises etc. Although, some might not consider homeschooling as the best advice for them, yet is a great option for those who may want to pursue it at their choice.
