Wrestling “Spectator Sport”

Wrestling is a combat sport which played between two competitors, involving forcing an opponent to touch the ground to some part of the body instead of his feet. Wrestling is conducted in various styles like upright, ground or mat, there are three basic styles of wrestling; belt and jacket, catch, hold and loose style which appear to have originated in antiquity.

In the belt and jacket style of wrestling, cloth of the wrestler means the principal of taking the grip of the opponent. Catch hold styles provides the constant to hold before the contest begin; grip should be maintain throughout the struggle. Loose style of wrestling is used in modern international competition, commerce with wrestler.

Early History

Wrestling is very old sport that is distributed, often in highly local styles that is persisted to the present day.

Wrestling is originated from hand to hand to combat, and in a particular sportive form of combat substituting the submission of a contestant for his death. The work of art from 3000 BCE depict belt wrestling in Babylonia and Egypt and Sumerian Gilgamesh epic has a description of Wrestling and loose wrestling in India dated before 1500 BCE. The belting Wrestling practiced locally in 20th century by the Swiss Icelanders, Japanese.

Middle Age

Islamic Rulers began to hire the Turkic mercenaries in 800 BCE, The Soldier brought with them the loose wrestling called Koresh, in which may be taken on the long leather pants wore by the wrestler. The Turks took over the entire Muslim Dominion and their wrestling spread. Later the Mongolian invasion in 13TH Century introduced their own wrestling which received a patronage and the wrestling the main sport of the Iran.

Wrestling occurred in many style throughout the Europe and middle Ages. The first recorded match was recorded in England in the early 13th century. In England and Brittany form of jacket wrestling called as Cornwall and Devon survives at least the 4TH and 5TH Century. Mongol loose wrestling is introduced to India after the Mughal conquest of 1526 has survived both in India and Pakistan.

Modern Wrestling

Second Half of the 19th Century, two wrestling style emerged that  dominated international wrestling Greco Roman wrestling, catch as catch can or freestyle wrestling .Greco Roman was popularized in France called because it was thought to be the kind of wrestling done by the ancients.
