Views on National Education policy 2020
NEP 2020 or national education policy 2020 is a new education policy approved by the Union Cabinet of India. It was launched on 29 July 2020 with the aim to make India a global knowledge superpower. There were several modifications that occurred in this new national education policy.
I personally think that this policy has great benefits that are going to help India in its development and growth. So, let me give my views regarding this new policy by telling some good changes brought along by this policy.
• Firstly, under the NEP 2029 mother tongue continues to be the medium for instructing students thus we can say that the schools are bilingual. I personally think that it is a great and much-needed change. This is because now the students studying in rural areas can easily seek extra help for studying from their parents and can also understand topics in an efficient way. Earlier it wasn’t able to take place as parents in such areas usually weren’t familiar with languages like Hindi and English but they were familiar with their native mother language. Also, nobody can expect a student to suddenly switch to another language that is not spoken in his or her area.
• Secondly, rigid and broad divisions like science, arts, and commerce and also in between curricular activities and extracurricular activities are made of no use. This is a new, nice, and positive change as now the students can select the subject of their liking irrespective of their streams and can follow their area of interest.
• Thirdly, as per this new policy, internships will start from class VI onwards. This will help students to know about a different type of industry and it’s working from an early age. It will also help students to pick up their career interests and then practice them for the future.
Therefore, I believe that these new and much-needed changes that came from this policy will play a vital role in making India’s future brighter.
