What Homeschooling Stole From Children’s Life
General News | Oct-18-2023
Since last year, the rise of the pandemic pushed us to put our kids at home for the whole day and make them attend school from home. We can sit here and talk for hours about kid’s life but we can never feel the loss they feel while being homeschooled. Yes, we get more family time, and yes, now parents can keep an eye on kids. But is everything as we see it or can we not feel the emotions of children these days?
Today, for children let’s talk about what is eliminated from their life. The moments and life we had lived, that they didn’t get even the chance of seeing let alone live.
1. Bonding With Friends:
In usual schooling days you can during your school days you get to be with children of the same age, you get to bond with them, talk with them, and gossip about teachers and yet there was never enough. But in homeschooling, children hardly concentrate on their studies let alone have time to talk with their friends or classmates.
2. Field days or Ground Days:
In usual schooling, students have free periods and those free periods are always fun no matter when we get them. And the speed with which students make a queue and reach the playground is unfathomable. Students now being home-schooled can’t get out of their houses let alone have a field or ground time or day.
3. Skipping Period:
In usual school, skipping periods was so much fun compared to homeschooling where teachers know that you are not there. The rush, excitement, and fear we felt when we made excuses just to take a trip off the floor or go to the library or computer lab for AC, cannot be felt now because as for now you just have to turn off your camera and audio.
4. School Trips:
Usually, every class school organizes trips to take them out once a year. In my days schools took children for trips and it was so much fun and joy being with your friends for the whole day and sleeping while talking with them late at night. Now no matter how many siblings we have and not how many trips we go on with our parents. The school trips organized by children cannot be compared to anything in the world. The memories we keep from those trips are for a lifetime.
