Our Hyper-Connected Z-Generation

These days smartphones, tabs and other electronic gadgets have just killed the overall childhood of the Z-generation         as they are claimed to be social-media addicted but in reality the claim is not 100% true as per an article in the New York Times titled, "Are Today’s Teenagers Smarter and Better Than We Think?(link is external)." There are exceptions in every generation and in every segment of our society, so basically it's a misconception.

Sometimes this hyper connectivity proves to be a boon too. In many occasions we have seen the young generation standing untidily to protest against unfair activities worldwide. However, if we judge this generation in terms of crime rates, as in teen pregnancy, school dropouts, or the like, we find that literally crime rates have lessened over the times and the z-generation seems to be doing better than the previous generation. In fact, it is seen that limited or controlled usage of electronic gadgets rather enhance knowledge quotient. Sometimes proper use of these gadgets provides happiness reducing the suffering of our kids. Thus, a conscious effort towards minimal or limited use of smartphones by our z-generation can rather prove extremely safe and beneficial to our z-generation.
