Sustainable development is the idea of fulfilling all needs without harming the environment. India is on the journey to becoming more sustainable with each step it takes. The key principle of sustainable development is- economic, environmental and social sustainability. We will throw more light on each of these principles now-
Economic sustainability-
This refers to the betterment of economic sustainability without affecting the capability of environment or social factors. Economic development is more of raising the living standards of public than just estimation of calculation of future GDP of the country.
Even though with the large population like India, sustainable development seems like a day dream. It is not impossible, alternate methods like, energy, water saving or waste management might be able to make ty=he dream come true for India. India is rich in sunlight and wind which can be used for the creation of solar and wind energy. Indian government has taken the initiative to introduce siolar panels to the common vendors which not only saves the amount spent on electricity but also elevates their living state.
One third of human consumption food is wasted every single year. That food can feed so many hungry and homeless people. Food waste management is an initiative by many hotels and restaurants, in which they save the said unused food and feed it to the hungry. Once this law of management of e=waste food is forced there will be no one sleeping empty stomach in the world.
Environmental sustainability-
It refers to the development of sustaining the flora and fauna of the world. With climate change and the various changes taking place in the core of the earth, environmental sustainability is a must. Initiating steps of this change can be setting up ecofriendly factory, implementing waste management and not letting industrial waste mixed in the air or soil of earth.
Plant drives are one of the most vital way of plating more greenery at the same time. Eco friendly fertilizers and seeds along with machine whose pollution does not harm the environment are certain things that encourage environment sustainability. Strict action against those who release toxic waste into the environment can benefit the nature. The biggest contributing factor will be awareness; awareness drives can be made possible which will introduce common public to the idea of sustainable development of environment.
Social sustainability-
It refers to preventing the burn out of human relations which result in better environment and productivity along with prolonged an happy life. The maximum need of this sustainability is in the business environment. Due ot the immense pressure in work environments social sustainability is invisible and not really looked after. Better relations between employer and employee and also employee to employee helps ones feel surrounded by trustworthy people and makes the work environment lighter.
Better salary should accompany belter relations. Every employee works for the survival of his/her family and therefore looks out for more money. To keep the employee satisfied is also to win their trust and loyalty.
