How Natural Disasters are Linked to Climate Change?

Climate change has become a major part of our daily lives. It is an issue that grew over time and fed on our ignorance. It can be defined as the long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. Let’s read about some of its main causes and consequences in detail.

Causes-
The major things that lead to climate change include deforestation, improper waste management, oil drilling, and a sudden increase in the number of greenhouse gases present in the atmosphere.

Consequences-
Climate change can lead to rising sea levels, melting of the glacier, destruction of animal habitats, heat waves, droughts, and storms. The worsening of the climate can lead to such weather events becoming more and more frequent and dangerous.

Most of these climate changes lead to natural disasters like floods, forest fires, droughts, hurricanes, and storms. Global warming and temperature increase can reduce temperature differences between the poles and the equator. The risen temperatures can lead to more water vapor in the atmosphere of the earth which then becomes fuel for more powerful storms than common. At the same time, it can lead to the melting of glaciers which can increase the water levels of rivers and seas causing floods. Climate change can also increase the drying of organic matter in the forests which leads to higher wildfire risk.

Thus, climate change should be our worst enemy as its consequences can cause the lives and homes of millions of people each year.
