Editorials News | Dec-25-2020
Electronics have become a necessity in today’s world, in the twenty-first century! We can’t even imagine our lives without them. The device I am writing this article on and the device you are reading this article from are both electronics or electronic devices. If I look around my room or you look around your room then at least we can list 3-5 electronics. Television, air conditioner, phone, fan, laptop, desktop and more. We are completely surrounded by these electronics! Most of us don’t realise that these electronics are trapping us. It’s just like a prison and we are getting addicted or stuck in this prison.
It’s a true fact that these electronics have made our lives much easier than before but everything whether good or bad has both good and bad sides. We know the positive side that electronics make our lives easy, in fact much easier, but it is vital to know about the negative or the bad side. So, let’s know about the impact of electronics on a healthy body and mind both physically and mentally.
• Lack of physical exercise: Stuck between electronics all day? Soon this can be the cause of weight gain and obesity because electronics do not offer as such any physical activity. Weight gain and obesity must not be a thing to think of for someone but it can be a house of diseases. Obesity can cause several diseases like diabetes.
• Laziness: Excessive use of anything and everything is bad. Due to these comforts provided by electronics, everything is available by just pressing a button. It can make us lazy and inactive. It can also have an effect on our mental health as it can cause depression and can also make one introverted.
• Harm to our sense organ, eyes: Eyes are among the most valuable sense organs. Electronics are a threat to our eyes because the brightness of our electronics can harm our eyes and in rare and extreme cases this can even make one blind.
• Radiation effects: Mostly all of the electronics from television to microwave produce radiations. These radiations are very harmful to our brain, especially during the night. If an excess of these radiations reaches our brain then it can be the cause of several mental disorders.
• Depression and introverted self: Our phones and tablets are also a part of electronics. These electronics help us connect with the fake world of social media. Now the thing to understand how it causes depression. On social media, one compares his or her body, face, height, marks and other things with other’s features and hobbies. One starts thinking that he or she is not capable to achieve that thing. This causes self-questioning and depression. Because of this one doesn’t want to face the outer world and becomes introvert.
The just as a coin has two sides, everything has two sides. So, let’s use these electronics wisely.
