Michigan State Basketball Has Delayed The Trip To Spain

The planned trip from the state of Michigan to Spain in August can wait.

After playing in the Final Four during the first week of April and leaving the season 2019-20 on November 5, the Spartans have decided to be part of the European tour and, instead, will focus on the next season as a team 1 in the Nation.

The team confirmed on Monday that, in fact, it will not go to Spain in mid-August as it was also planned, with the expectation of rescheduling the trip for the summer of 2020.

Teams can travel abroad every four years to compete against international teams. Michigan State traveled to Italy in the summer of 2015, just a few months after playing in the Final Four against Duke.

After this season's trip to the Final Four, the Spartans prepare for a tough first month of the regular season. He will face Kentucky in the Champions Classic on November 5 in New York and travel to Seton Hall, a team that will probably be in the top 15 at the Gavitt Games on November 14.

Less than two weeks later, he heads to Maui Invitational where Kansas is on the other side of the support. Duke then arrives at the Breslin Center on December 3 for a confrontation at the ACC / Big Ten Challenge.

Although it is a difficult stretch, the state of Michigan is expected to be better classified in the preseason, led by the return of Cassius Winston, the Big Ten player of the year.

MSU had a 32-7 record last season, winning both the regular-season Big Ten and the tournament titles before losing Texas Tech, 61-51, in the national semifinal on April 6 in Minneapolis. The Izzo team is considered for a series of preseason projections as the number 1 team next season.

The last trip of the Spartans abroad was in Italy in the summer of 2015. MSU won the Big Ten tournament title that year but got angry in the first round of the 2016 NCAA tournament in the state of Middle Tennessee.

The school also welcomed the celebrity fight in Area 313 next week as part of the Rocket Mortgage Classic at the Detroit Golf Club. Izzo was part of Bubba Watson's team with Red Wings goalkeeper Jimmy Howard and long-distance female golfer Troy Mullins in the three-hole event of 3-5 p.m. June 25th.
