Parental Involvement in Child Education

Needless to say there are different studies that have times and again reiterated the significance of parental involvement in a Childs educational development. It is a two way process, complete absence of parental involvement or too much of it never yields good result.
These can be understood from different examples. Let us take an example of a student "Joy". The school and the class teacher keep informing the parents about Joy's performance but they remain unresponsive for reasons best known to them. In such a scenario, Joy's success will be mostly determined by his effort and enthusiasm towards learning.
The second example is of little "Mary" who simply goes to school and comes back. The teacher, the school does not make any attempt to communicate with the parents neither are the parents interested to know about Mary's progress. This kind of indifferent behavior makes Mary a lonely and left out student who remains unsupported, and de-motivated.
The third example is of "Michael" whose parents and teachers have regular communication with each other about his progress and areas of improvement. There is cooperation between both the parents and the teacher which helps Michael to tide over difficult times and because of this team support feels enthusiastic to do better.
The Fourth example is of "Jordan" whose parents are keen to know about his progress in school as he lacks in communicating his school work on a daily basis, whereas the school does not make an effort to speak to his parents. This leaves the parent totally in the dark about how Jordan is actually progressing.
When we go through all these scenarios it becomes very clear that as for an all round development of a child, two way communications between the parents and the school is of utmost important.
